Ryan’s going to be a Dad!

My wife and I are expecting a baby girl on July 6th! We are filled with both joy and excitement to welcome our first child into the world.

For obvious reasons, I will not be able to join the rest of Ocean Grove for the upcoming He Is We tour.

A good friend of ours named Joe Seiders will be filling in on keys while I’m at home. I’m looking forward to joining my bandmates again very soon as a proud father!

Well, as you know Greg decided that he wanted to hand draw the poster for the contest winners of the New York Gramercy show contest. He finally brought it over to my apartment and let me do some coloring with him. Finally we finished just in time for the show.

Here is a look at Greg’s masterpiece:

The 50 contest winners will be getting one of these for FREE as a thank you from Ocean Grove for being the first fifty people on the east coast to buy a ticket and come to the second ever show! To check if you’ve won, come up to the merch table and ask, we’ll have the list of names printed out to check for you.

Troubadour Review

1,439

Mark this date in history: February 17, 2011.

On that day, John Taylor, Greg Garbowsky, Jack Lawless, and Ryan Liestman threw a party, and for once, people actually showed up.

The group, collectively known as Ocean Grove, performed music with various instruments of their choosing to a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles’ historic Troubadour, a venue famous for launching the career of Guns N Roses, which is fitting, given keyboardist Ryan Liestman’s striking resemblance to Axl Rose.

The party was thrown in tribute to Kenny Humphries, former tour bus driver for the band during their ill-fated stint with a minor pop band. Kenny’s spirit was celebrated on stage with a bottle of Dr. Pepper and a cover of the Beach Boys’, “God Only Knows.” It is agreed amongst friends that Kenny would have found the event most satisfactory.

The quartet will tempt fate a second time, and have announced that they will attempt to host another party on March 11th at the Gramercy Theater in New York City.

The guest list is filling up fast, but it’s probably just a bunch of “maybes.”

Please RSVP here.
